I think they are the best value for seats. Thanks!I would really stick with the Grand Tier. I disagree but that's just my opinion.Īs far as I am concerned, I would gladly sit in Parterre No.

In fact, there are people who think standing room is the best. Would it be better to be front row center? Believe it or not, there are people who refuse front row center and have a specified number of rows back that they want to sit. At the Met's production of Rigoletto last season, for example, The Duke and Sparafucile sang from high up on stage right, Madalena from low on stage right and the famous duet of Rigoletto and Gilda on stage left. What some people who are not regular opera goers do not understand is that in opera-unlike a concert-not all the singing takes place in center stage. I thought the experience was spectacular. I once attended a special performance of the Met and sat in Parterre No. Please take a look at the Parterre seating chart at Thanks!Yes, the new season has some of my favorites, "Carmen," "La Boheme," La Traviata," etc. Or do you think I should just stick with the Grand Tier Rear ($150) or Dress Circle ($125)? If yes, is it worth paying $25 more to sit in the Grand Tier Rear?
Metropolitan opera house n.y plus#
I just sat through a 3 hour plus performance in the balcony at the San Francisco Opera and it was a bit excrutiating. One benefit of sitting in the boxes seems to me to be more leg room. How partial is it? Will I see about 70-80% of the stage which isn't bad, or is it more like 40 or 50%? I'm afraid that a partial view will be as bad as the partially obstructed view seats at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.

My price range is in the $100 to $150 per performance range.Ĭan anyone give any insight on the views of the stage from the Side Parterre Box ($150), Grand Tier Box ($120), and Dress Circle Box ($80)? The Met says that these seats have a partial view. I'm very excited about the new season and am getting ready to buy tickets to some performances I know will be sold out quickly.
